What defines your government type (clan vs feudal)? Is it culture, faith, or just what you start as? I’d prefer to be known as “Egypt” rather than my my family name (Clan realms are known by family name). Makuria, below me, is Coptic but they’re feudal if I remember correctly. However, I’ve had some issues (and then questions!) from a flavor perspective, particularly relating to the issues expressed in thread title. Then I switched to Coptic (lots of fun) and slowly started expanding out. ![]() Once I inherited the Sultanate of Egypt, I broke free from the Abbasids while he was fighting Byzantium. I’m playing a Coptic Egyptian campaign- started as the Duke of Alexandria in 867.
